Gloria Jean Mclaughlin

Asheville - Gloria Jean McLaughlin, 61, of 6 Morris Place, died Monday, August 9, 2004 in Memorial Mission Hospital after an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Harry Dean and Minnie Hodge Dean Frady. Survivng are her husband, Eugene McLaughlin; a daughter, Brenda Gann and husband Jimmy of Candler; two sons: Eugene Bo McLaughlin and companion Michelle Sharpe of Asheville and Phillip McLaughlin and wife Melissa of Asheville; five sisters: Shirley Oxendine, Betty Banks, Polly Dukes, Mary Metcalf, and Carolyn Jones; a brother, Clyde Dean; two step-brothers: Ed Frady and Charles Frady; five grandchildren: Chris, Jimmy Lee, Blaine, Kendall, and Kyleah; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Steve Brockwell officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
