Alma Ledford

Asheville Mattie Almeta Alma Rodgers Ledford died Sunday June 26, 2005 at the Oaks at Sweeten Creek after a period of declining health. A native of Greenville, SC, she had lived in Buncombe County most of her life. She attended Biltmore Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Samuel Henry and Maude Hollingsworth Rodgers and the wife of the late Aud Ledford. She was also preceded in death by a son, John B. Ledford. Surviving are her sons, Kenneth R. Ledford of Asheville, Philip L. Ledford of Arden and Derek A. Ledford of Asheville; sister, Mabel Lanning of Asheville; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren and 1 niece. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Beverly Colombo and David Warren officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
