Alma Lee Taylor

Alma Lee Burleson Taylor, 80, passed away at home on Sunday, February 21, 2016. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County she was a daughter of the late Vernie Edwin Burleson and Gertrude Sawyer Burleson. She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Alvin Lee Burleson, and Vernie Edwin Burleson, Jr. Mrs. Taylor retired from Bussmann Corporation, and her favorite pastime was quilting. She is survived by her children: Don Taylor and wife Robbie of South Asheville, and Maxine Taylor of Townville, SC; sister, Georgia DeHart of Asheville; grandchildren: Gidget Waldrop, Christine Hughes, Jamie Meredith, and Christopher Wayne Taylor; great grandchildren: Christian Emory, JC Meredith, Brianna Emory, Corbin Mitchell Taylor, and Abigail Meredith; many nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Chloe. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with Rev. Garry Rogers officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Council on Aging of Buncombe County, 46 Sheffield Circle, Asheville, NC 28803.
