Alta Leona Allman

Mars Hill - Alta Leona Allman, 103, of 50 Manor Rd. died Monday, January 5, 2004 at Madison Manor Nursing Home. Miss Allman was a native of Madison County and had lived there for most of her life. She was a member of Grandview Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Adult Sunday School Class. She was formerly employed by the Charles Store in Asheville and worked for a number of years for South Mountain Orphanage. Miss Allman was the daughter of the late Jasper Newton Allman and Nancy Elizabeth McDaris Allman. Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Pike officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the services.
