Anna Katherine Rhew

Asheville - Anna Katherine Rhew, 97, of 1314 Tunnel Rd. died Sunday, May 5, 2002 at Asheville Health Care Center. A native of Yancey County, she attended Biltmore Holiness Temple. She was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Nellie Ledford and was also preceded in death by 2 grandchildren and several brothers and sisters. Surviving are her daughters, Jeanne Austin, Elizabeth Thomas, and Frances Harris all of Asheville; sons, William T. Rhew, Jr. of Asheville and Charles Robert Rhew of Fairview; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Raymond Woodby and James Gass officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Elizabeth Thomas, 1155 Sweeten Creek Rd., Asheville.
