Annette Melton

ASHEVILLE - Annette Creasman Melton, 76, of Old Starnes Cove Road, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Hospice Solace Center surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Melton retired from AT&T, and was a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Creasman; her mother, Pearl Quinn Revis; and by her beloved grandmother, Bertha Quinn. Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Joe Melton, of the home; daughter, Sheree Montgomery and husband Ron of Asheville; granddaughter, LaShea Wilkie and husband Eddie of Fletcher; and four great-grandchildren: Chandler, Anna, Lauren, and Mary Grace. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with the Rev. Jimmy Dykes officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-6:00 PM Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Care Partners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
