Barbara Anne Hayes, 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2025, in Asheville, North Carolina. Born on December 7, 1939, in Leicester, she spent more than 40 years as a dedicated Realtor and Developer in Santa Rosa, California, where she made a significant impact on the local real estate landscape.

A proud graduate of Leicester High School, Barbara carried the values instilled in her during her formative years throughout her life. Her love for her family was evident to all who knew her, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Barbara had a deep appreciation for the ocean and water, often finding joy in their soothing presence.

She leaves behind her brother, Carl Hayes, Sr. and his wife Elaine, as well as her sister-in-law, Wanda Hayes. Barbara is also survived by her niece Jackie Thomas and husband Ryan, along with her nephew Carl Hayes and wife Donna. Her great nieces, Lauren Redden and husband Preston, and Maegan Thomas, along with her great-great nephew, Charlie Redden, will remember her fondly.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Carthey Malachi Hayes and Nona Bevie Henderson Hayes; as well as her children, Roy Kunz, III, and Sandra Kunz Moran and her husband John; and her brother, Earl Hayes.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.

As we remember Barbara, we celebrate a life that was devoted to family, community, and a love for the beauty of life by the ocean. Her legacy will undoubtedly continue through the love and memories she shared with those around her. She will be greatly missed.

Anders Rice & Roper Funeral Home and Cremation Center is honored to serve Barbara's family.
