Barbara Jay Shook

Candler - Barbara Jay Shook, 57, of 75 Foxbriar Drive. died Thursday March 31, 2005 at Memorial Mission Hospital after a period of declining health. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Ray James and Leatha Messer Autrey and was also preceded in death by a son, Todd Haney and brother, Alan Autrey. Surviving are her husband, Ned Shook of the home; daughter, Cheri Wood and husband Wade of Asheville; step son, David Shook and wife Kasey of Coralville, IA.; brother, Ronald Autrey and wife Sheryl of Charlotte and 6 precious grandchildren, Aubrey, Casey, Bailey and Kerry Wood and Haley and Hunter Shook. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
