Barbara Stephenson

Asheville - Barbara Jean Jones Stephenson, 67, of 10 Old Rymer Drive, died Wednesday June 6, 2007 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native and life long resident of Buncombe County, she attended Aaron Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Jack Matthews and Josephine Jones and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carla Hollifield. Surviving are her husband, Charles Stephenson of the home; daughter, Rebecca Biddix and husband Ray of Asheville; son-in-law, Ronney Hollifield of Leicester; grandchildren, Wendy Mullis, Ronney Hollifield, Jr., April Ballew and Crystal Surrett and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Hassie Lundy and Pastor Daniel Stephenson officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
