Betty Jane Best

Arden – Betty Jane Hart Best, 80, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Voley E. Hart and Jane Matilda Buckner Hart. She was also preceded in death by her husbands: E. Ray Reeves and Jerry P. Best. Mrs. Best was a member of Skyland Baptist Church. Surviving are her children: Kevin Ray Reeves of Arden, Kandyce Reeves Gibbs of Boiling Springs, SC, and Kenneth Lee Reeves of Asheville; grandchildren: Kayla Lanier, Katelyn Page, Sarah Reeves, Devon Reeves, Jessica Reeves, and Kody Reeves; great-granddaughters: Lila Page, Freyja Page, and Ryan Lanier; sister, Helen Hart Hickox of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Paul Stuart Hart and wife Cecily of Charleston, SC; nieces and nephews: Mike Hart, Doug Hart, Greg Hart, Suzanne Kennedy, Jeff Gullatt, and Michele Robertson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, September 28, 2020, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Jay Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12 till 12:45 PM at the funeral home.
