Betty Mcgee

Asheville - Betty Jean Merrill McGee, 83, passed away Thursday June 17, 2010. A native and lifelong resident of Asheville, she was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Robert Rankin and Lucy Craig Merrill and the wife of the late Norman McGee, Jr. Surviving are her daughter, Nancy C. McGee of the home; sister, Norma Merrill Pearce of Front Royal, VA; brother, Robert Franklin Merrill of Asheville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Clark Henderson officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bethel UMC Cemetery.
