Betty Jean Todd, 88, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Fleshers Fairview Health Care. Born on September 16, 1938, in Sylva, North Carolina, she will be remembered with love by all who knew her.
Betty’s life was rooted in the place where she was born, and her memory remains closely held by the family and friends who shared in her years. Her passing leaves a quiet space in the hearts of those who loved her, while also calling to mind the lasting bonds she created through a lifetime of connection and care.
Betty dedicated many years of her life to her work, retiring from the quality control department of Gerber Products in 1986 and later from Eaton Corporation in 1999. She is survived by her son, Mike Todd and wife Monica; her daughters, Lynn Franks and husband Ken, and Lisa Todd Smith; grandchildren: Andre Henderson, Elisha Todd, Mitzie Todd, Kellie Weeks, Andrew Conner, and Mandy Thompson; great-grandchildren: Brittny, Hanna, Taylor, Jacob, Zeke, Abbie, Zane, Mason, Leila, Leona, Chairmaine, Jayden, Avery, and Caleb; great-great-grandchildren: Sophie, Avery, and Silas; her very dear and special friends, Kathy Wood and Joyce McMinn; and her loving dog "Jo Jo".
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Todd; her parents, Walter O'Dell Mason and Leila Mae Deitz Mason; granddaughter, Kimberly Derden; great-granddaughter, Brianna Lynn; and special friend, Marie Lipe.
As those who loved Betty Jean Todd remember her, they will carry forward the comfort of her presence and the value of the relationships she held so dearly. May her memory bring peace to her family and friends in the days ahead.
