Billie Garland

Asheville Billie Marie Garland, 84, went to be with her Lord Friday, March 29, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. A native of Yancey County, Ms. Garland had been a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. She was the daughter of the late James and Tiny Silvers Garland. Surviving are her daughters: Pat Parker and Geraldine Anderson, both of Asheville; 10 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; 2 great, great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Garland of Asheville; brothers: Don Garland and Ray Garland of Asheville, and Glen Garland of Burnsville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Rash officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-10:45 AM Monday at the funeral home.
