Billy Johnson

Billy James Johnson, 73, passed away, Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Elizabeth House. He was a native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County and was an U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. Billy was a son of the late William James and Pauline Sparks Johnson. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Charlotte Johnson and a grandson, Robert Shawn Baxter. Surviving are his daughters, Marilyn Baxter and husband, Robert, Diana Rose and husband, Desmon, Pamela The Pam McCall and husband, Ed and Angela Kimbril and husband, Michael; son, Billy James Johnson, Jr.; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Reecel Johnson and Robert Johnson; sisters, Syble Allen and Linda Noe; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, May 8 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
