Bobby West

Candler - Bobby Lang West, 73, of 608 Davis Creek Road, died Tuesday July 18, 2006 at his home after an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a member of Hominy Independent Church. He was a retired firefighter with the Upper Hominy Fire Department and a member of GWRRA Chapter #G2. He was a son of the late Doyce Lang and Grace Watts West. Surviving are his wife, Stella Anders West of the home; daughters, Brenda McClure of Jacksonville, FL, Karen Thomas of Asheville and Ellen Hensley of Candler; sons, Leonard West and Kenneth West both of Candler; brother, Billy Ray West of Douglas, GA; 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and a large extended family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Austin Watts and Rick McCarson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
