Bowden "Tommy" T. Helms Jr.

Bowden Tommy Helms, Jr., 54, received his wings to heaven on Monday, January 1, 2018, after a long battle with cancer. He is now praising his Lord and Savior. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Bowden and Emagene Wilde Helms. Tommy was a member and Deacon of Freedom Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Tina Morgan Helms; son, Christian Helms; daughter, Ashley Helms; sisters: Annette Gunter, Louise Wilde, Suzette Radford, Alita Almindinger, Debra Fox, and Ellen Bridges; and several nieces and nephews.. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, January 4, 2018 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Keith Hutchinson officiating. Burial will be follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 Till 8:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
