Branson Leroy Roberts

Alexander Branson Leroy Roberts, 74, of 45 High Valley Estates Court, passed away Friday, July 20, 2007 at his residence following a lengthy illness. A native of Madison County, he had resided in Buncombe County for the past 56 years. He worked as a carpenter for Buncombe Construction Company for 33 years, and was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. He was a dedicated Christian, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Mr. Roberts was the son of the late Johnny and Susie Roberts. He was also preceded in death by a son, Keith Roberts; brothers: Ray, James, and Lloyd Roberts; and sister, Lee Navy. Surviving are his wife, Linda Woody Roberts, of the home; sons: Michael Roberts of Leicester, and James Roberts and wife Carrie of Alexander; daughter, Latricia Roberts Shaver and husband Charles of Alexander; granddaughter, Brynn Shaver; brothers: Coy, Leonard, Howard and Richard Roberts; sisters: Opal Rice, Margaret Riddle, and Ellen Roberts; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Eugene Edwards and Rev. JR Plemmons officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
