Brenda Gail Howard Mayhew

Asheville - Brenda Gail Howard Mayhew, 48, of 7 Winding Road went home to be with the Lord, Thursday November 25, 2004 at the Hospice Solace Center after an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she worked as a Geriatric Nurse for over 20 years and was employed by the Asheville Health Care Center. She was a member of Haywood St. United Methodist Church and attended the Calvary Chapel. She was a daughter of Red and Elsie Howard of Asheville. Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, William Francis Mayhew, III of Asheville; daughters, Jaime Gomez of Asheville and Zaneta Justice of Wilmington; sons, Dwayne Justice of Sumpter, SC. and William Andrew Mayhew of Asheville; sisters, Sherri Lynn Clark, Gwen Davis, Melody Howard and Brenda Lewis all of Asheville and 6 grandchildren, Malik, Kahlil, Jorden, Estrella, Elijah and Chance. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Haywood Street United Methodist Church with Pastor Billy Osigian officiating. This is a celebration of Brendas life and at her request, please do not wear black if possible. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6:00 P.M.
