Brenda Smith Webb

Brenda Smith Webb, 74, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Wade C. Smith and Jennie Buckner Smith Childs. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Christine Webb. Mrs. Webb graduated from Erwin High School and retired from Oakley Elementary School as a Teachers Assistant. She was a member of Biltmore Church for the past 18 years. Surviving are her husband, John Raymond Webb, Sr.; children: John Raymond Webb, Jr. and wife Cindy of Old Fort, Tammy Webb McDevitt and husband Doug of Weaverville, and Roger Webb and wife Michelle of Arden; grandchildren: Caroline, Josh, Rebecca, Justin, John, and Jeffrey; great-grandchildren: Ava, Cadie, Matix, and Ella; sister, Sandy Totherow of Due West, SC; brother, Wayne Smith and wife Peggy of Fairview; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 6 PM Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Josh McDevitt and Rev. Sam McLamb officiating. A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 4 till 6 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
