Burnice Brose Penley

Fairview - Burnice Brose Penley, 76, of 141 Rose Hill Road died January 25, 2006 at the home of his daughter. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired from Sayles Biltmore Bleacheries. He was a son of the late Henry and Nancy Penley and the husband of the late Marjorie Harris Penley. Surviving are his daughter, Carolyn Penley of Fairview; brothers, Bill and Earl Penley both of Asheville; sisters, Linda King of Oakley and Jean Roland of Raleigh; 2 grandchildren, Melanie and Mark Howard; 2 great grandchildren, Isaiah and Katlyn Howard and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral home with the Revs. Doug Jones and James Calloway officiating. Burial will be in Gashes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
