Carl Alvin Chambers

Marshall - Carl Alvin Chambers, 64, of 622 Ivy Hill Rd. died Friday, January 23, 2004 at St. Josephs Hospital following an extended illness. He was a native and resident for most of his life in Buncombe County and had lived in Madison County for a little over a year. Mr. Chambers was the son of the late Clarence Willard and Willie Kate Smith Chambers. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Johnson. Surviving are his wife, Lucy Mae Cutshall Chambers of the home; daughters, Imogene Hudgins of Horse Shoe, Sandra Jamerson of Mars Hill and Nancy Connelly of Mills River; sons, Carl Chambers, Jr. of Marshall and Nikki Chambers of Swannanoa; sister, Carolyn King of Leicester; brothers, Bill Chambers of TN, Joe Chambers of Asheville, David Chambers of Barnardsville, Everette Chambers of Alexander and Tim Chambers of Maine; 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James W. Donati officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
