Carri Carter Hudson, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2026, in Hendersonville, North Carolina. She was born on April 21, 1957, in Flint, Michigan, and resided most of her life in Western North Carolina.
Carri graduated from T.C. Roberson High School, and throughout her life, she developed a vibrant personality marked by her love for spirited debates, her admiration for Donald Trump, and her fondness for music from Elvis Presley. Notably, she found delight in Bible Prophecy and enjoyed indulging in McDonald's milkshakes, hobbies that reflected her unique character and zest for life. Above all, she cherished her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and was a member of Happy Valley Baptitst Chruch.
Her proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly her deep love for her family, including her two sons, Brent Sharpton and his wife Alyce, as well as Ryan Sharpton and his wife Sarah. Carri took immense joy in being a grandmother to her four grandchildren: Brynleigh Sharpton, Brayden Sharpton, Kaylee Sharpton, and Laura Sharpton. She is also survived by her sister, Kayla Chase and her husband Mark; her brother, Steve Carter; and two nieces and three nephews.
Carri was preceded in death by her parents, C.M. Carter and Ruth Ann Hall Carter, who have surely welcomed her home with open arms.
A graveside service to honor her life will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at New Salem Cemetery located at 207 Rosscraggon Road, Asheville, NC. Family and friends are invited to gather as they celebrate Carri’s life, beginning at 2:00 PM with Pastor Allen Rash officiating.
Carri Carter Hudson will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and the joy she brought into the lives of many. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, devotion, and the joyful memories shared with loved ones that will forever warm their hearts.
