Charleen Hensley Blankenship

Colorado Springs, Co. - Charleen Penland Hensley Blankenship, 78, formerly of Candler, died Tuesday August 21, 2001 at the home of her daughter in Colorado Springs, Co. A native of Yancey Co. she lived most of her life in Buncombe County. She was a daughter of the late Lawson and Mallie Roland Penland and the wife of the late Alden B. Blankenship and Overman B. Hensley. She was also preceded in death by 4 brothers. Surviving are her daughters, Loretta Hensley Thomas and Debbie Hensley Plemmons both of Candler and Beverly Hensley Orvosh of Colorado Springs, Co..; step-daughter, Diane Blankenship Roach of Rock Hill, SC.; sister, Dell Penland of Candler; brother, Dennie Penland of Candler; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Jay Blankenship and John Zboyovski, Sr. officiating. Entombment will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
