Charles William Lee

Woodfin– Charles William Lee, 72, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 6, 2020, at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Leonard and Edna Lee. He was also preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, Peggy Jenkins Lee, and a son, Horace Ervin Smith. Charles was a loving father and grandfather and was looked up to as a hero by his children. He will be greatly missed. Surviving are his children: Daisy Smith and husband Mike, Veronica Faye Weaver and husband Tom, and Delaina Gail Smith all of Asheville; sisters: Lillian Lee Cantrell of Leicester, and Haddie Lee of California; brother, Robert Earl Lee of Kentucky; twelve grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 12, 2020, from 6 till 8 PM at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
