Clyde Herbert Scott

Candler - Clyde Herbert Scott, 59, of 8 Flaming Azalea Lane died Thursday - December 6, 2007 at the Asheville VA Medical Center. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County he was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a son of the late Nell Blankenship Austin and Glenn and Flossie Scott. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Doris Galus and brother, Charles L. Scott. Surviving are his daughters, Michelle of TX and Gidget of MI; son, Jason Scott of Asheville; companion, Christine Martin of Candler; sisters, Juanita Styles, Glenda Cagle, Patsy Standridge and husband Jim all of Asheville and Kathy Thorpe and husband Dean of Fairview; brothers, Glenn Scott, Jr. and Lee Roy Scott both of Asheville; sister-in-law, Jackie Scott of Asheville; 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Reeves Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Ponder officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
