Cosley Webb

Asheville - Cosley Elbert Webb, 87, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the Laurels of Greentree Ridge. A native of Laurel Fork, VA, he had lived in Buncombe County since 1946. He was a U.S. Army WWII veteran, having served in Northern France and The Battle of the Bulge and received the Bronze Star. Mr. Webb was a son of the late Sanford Lee and Lutitia Bolt Webb and husband of Bonnie Messer Webb who died October 28, 2010. He was also preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Surviving are his daughter, Dianne Estes and husband Barry of Asheville; grandson, Dennis Owenby and wife Amy of Asheville; great grandsons, Liam and Oliver Owenby; brother, Clinton Webb and sister, Minnie Nester both of Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
