Dale Hollifield

Asheville – Hugh Dale Hollifield, 43, passed away Monday, September 14, 2020 at the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare Hospice Home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Dale worked as a heavy equipment operator, and was a member of State Street Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Jackie Blaine Mills, and he will be remembered as an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving are his father, Sammy Hollifield; mother, Hazel Yvonne Mills; his loving companion of eight years, Lisa Shelton; children: Chasity Souther, Kaela Hollifield, and Grayson Rhymer; one granddaughter; brother, Jackie Mills and wife Samantha; nieces: Taylor Mills, Haley Fish, and Hannah Fish; nephews: Dylan Pace and Logan Emory; and several loving cousins and other extended family members. Memorial services will be held at 5:30 PM Friday, September 18, 2020 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Tim Warren officiating. The family will receive friends following the services at the funeral home.
