David Allen Cartwright

Leicester David Allen Cartwright, 50, went to be with his Savior and family in Heaven on Thursday, December 23, 2010. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mr. Cartwright was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. He was the son of Janet Bowman Cartwright and the late Bill Cartwright. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Smathers Cartwright; grandson, Jared Lee Surrett; and maternal grandparents: Ransom and Christine Bowman. In addition to his mother, surviving are his children: Tonya Cartwright Williams and husband Bobby, and Joseph Allen Cartwright and wife Candy; step-children: Joshua Joseph Duckett and wife Tonya, and Amber Gene Smathers; 13 grandchildren; sisters: Fonda Cartwright Cassada and husband David, and Sharolyn Curenton; brother, Eric Cartwright and wife Debbie; and several special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 6 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Thomas Freeman officiating. The family will receive friends following the services. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 PM noon Wednesday at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
