David Mckinney

Asheville David Joe Chief McKinney, 81, of 134 Stradley Mountain Road, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at his home. A native & lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he retired from the Food Industry with Wilcox Marketing for Ingles and was a long time member of Trinity Baptist Church. Mr. McKinney was a son of the late Joseph Elmer McKinney and Nancy Agnes Plemmons McKinney. Surviving are his wife whom he married March 8, 1958, Betty Louise Haney McKinney of the home; daughters, Janet Michael (Terry) of Arden and Kimberly Wilson of Asheville; grandchildren, David Wilson and Jennifer Wilson; great grandchildren, Whitney, Cameron and Christopher; sister, Sandra Hensley (Howard) of Leicester; brothers, Clayton McKinney (Margaret) of Asheville and Leon McKinney (Becky) of Marion and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 3:30 PM Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Rash officiating.
