Dean Parton

Dean Parton, 65, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at the John F. Keever Solace Center, surrounded by his family. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Floyd Marion and Lily Moxley Parton. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Eugene Parton. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Shirley Ann Sprouse Parton; children: Brian Michael Parton and wife Melissa of Haw Creek, Angelita Elizabeth Miller and husband Daniel of Asheville, and Amanda Gabrielle Hughes and husband Matthew of Leicester; grandchildren: Kellie Miller, Kirkland Parton, Chloe Parton, and Connor Hughes; sister, Patricia Ann Welch and husband Darrell of Woodfin; and niece, Michelle Welch. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at Georgetown Baptist Church, of which he was a member, with the Rev. Lee Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Dix Creek Chapel. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the family The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 3:00 PM Wednesday at the church.
