Delaina Gail Smith

Candler – Delaina Gail Smith, 58, passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 8, 2021 at her home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Ms. Smith was a former member of the Salvation Army Church. She enjoyed doing crafts, decorating, taking pictures, and animals. She will always be remembered as a strong Christian woman, one that was a great mom and sister, as well as a loving and doting grandmother and great-grandmother. Ms. Smith was the daughter of the late Bill and Peggy Jenkins Lee. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jaelynn Nichole Boyd; and a brother, Randy Smith. Surviving are her children: Rachel Todd, Amanda Taylor, Billy Smith, and Cassi Boyd; grandchildren: Cody Smith, D.J. Smith, Amanda Penley, Destiny Smith, Tanner Boyd, Tyler Smith, Syerra Smith, Madison Harrin, Dalton Smith, Gracie Todd, Rosie Singleton, and Adisen Hudgins; great-grandchildren: Jaiden and Ayanna; sisters: Daisy Smith and Faye Weaver; her dogs: Jack and Manny; and several loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Memorial services will be held at 5:00 PM Thursday, January 14, 2021 in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. John McClung officiating.
