Donald Edward Haynes went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 21, 2026. He was born on September 24, 1939.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother and loving wife of 61 years, Nancy Haynes. He is survived by his brother, daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He was a graduate of Western Carolina University. He was an adamant Catamounts fan and Temple Eagles basketball fan. He was a faithful member of the Bible Baptist Church of Emma and was loved by all of his church family there. He enjoyed drinking coffee, watching football and traveling with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved studying genealogy and biblical prophecy.
His memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at Bible Baptist Church, 520 N Louisiana Ave, Asheville, NC 28806.
