Dora Ruby Jenkins Hawkins

Asheville - Dora Ruby Jenkins Hawkins, 76, of 63 Indiana Avenue died Thursday August 1, 2002 at Memorial Mission Hospital after a period of declining health. A native of Bryson City, she had lived most of her life in Asheville. She was a daughter of the late Pete William and Emma Jane Ball Jenkins and the wife of the late James Jay Hawkins. Surviving are her sons, Ernest Hawkins and wife Sharon of Asheville, David Hawkins and wife Rolenia of Asheville, Larry Hawkins and wife Diane of Ocala, Fl. and Bobby Hawkins of Asheville; sister, Pauline Haney of Asheville; 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
