Dorothy Darlene "Dee Dee" Jones

Asheville - Dorothy Dee Dee Mullen Jones, 41, of Asheville, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at the home of her sister. A native of Buncombe County, she resided for a time in Raleigh before returning to Asheville. Mrs. Jones was the daughter of Phillip James and Oie Jordan Mullen of Asheville. She was preceded in death by a son, Jason Mullen, and a nephew, Brian Burleson, who was in the US Navy.. In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband, Gerald Jones of Asheville; her sons, Joshua and Brandon; her sister, Phyllis Marie Gillen of Arden; two brothers: James Daniel Mullen and wife Jessie of Fairview and David Richard Mullen and wife Denise of Leicester; two aunts: Dorothy Carlton of North Wilkesboro and Margaret Jenkins of Asheville; two uncles: Richard Jordan of Washington and Ronald Jordan and wife Debra of Albany, NY; and several nieces, nephews and close friends. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Cecil Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
