Dorothy Virginia Harwood

Asheville - Dorothy Virginia Harwood, 80, of 81 Martel Village, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 15, 2005 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she retired from Square D Company. She was a member of Elk Mountain Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Lee Jay and Aery Harwood. She was also preceded in death a sister, Elsie Harwood, and her brother, Burnice Harwood. Surviving are her sister, Jennie Naomi Harwood, of the home; a sister-in-law, Virginia Harwood of Asheville; and two nephews: Harvey Harwood of Asheville, and Kenneth Woody of Polk County. Graveside services will beheld at 2 PM Monday at West Memorial Park, with the Rev. Eugene Duyck and Rev. Charles Duyck officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 PM Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
