Douglas Worth "Doug" Brown

Leicester - Douglas Worth Brown, 81, of 1599 Alexander Road, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 17, 2006 at his home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a member of Western Chapel United Methodist Church, and had retired from American Enka. Doug was a veteran of the US Navy. He was the son of the late Worth and Mae Tripplett Brown. Surviving are his wife, Gearleen Roberson Brown, of the home; brother, Earl Brown and wife Sophie of Concord; aunt, Sue Tripplett of Leicester; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 3 PM Saturday at Western Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Ray Hipps officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the Brown family with arrangements.
