Candler - Earl Dixon Rogers, 82, passed away Tuesday November 16, 2010. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County he was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of Georgetown Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Clarence and Rosa Rogers. Surviving are his wife, Betty Rogers; son, Myron Rogers (Cindy); step sons, Dennis Penland and Bruce Penland (Joy); step daughters, Diane Davis (Bob) all of Candler and Linda Penland of Woodruff, SC; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Lee Davis officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team.
