Earl Mitchel King

Swannanoa - Earl Mitchel King, 93, of 335 Fountain Way died Saturday April 9, 2005 at the Hospice Solace Center after an extended illness. A native of Yancey County, he had lived in Florida for several years and then Buncombe County for the past 35 years. He was a son of the late Sam and Lori Edwards King and was also preceded in death by a son, Ray J. King. Surviving are his wife, Lois Ann Marlowe King of the home; sons, Raymond J. King of Swannanoa and David L. King of Alexander; daughter, Wanda J. Towe of Candler; brothers, Arvil King of Burnsville and Coy King of Asheville; sister, Pauline Foster of Marion; 5 step daughters; 1 step son; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren 11 step grandchildren and 11 step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Roy McPeters and Bob Ballard officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
