Edward Solesby Sr.

Asheville - Edward Howard Solesby, Sr., 66, passed away Wednesday - January 6, 2010 at his residence. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a member of Bingham Heights Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Lowell and Maude Solesby. Surviving are his wife, Mildred Lunsford Solesby of the home; daughters, Jan Pitts and husband Tom of Fletcher and Eva Gowan of Asheville; sons, Ed Solesby, Jr. and wife Tracie of Asheville, Ronnie Solesby and wife Rena of Marshall and Bruce Solesby and wife Jennifer of Asheville; sisters, Betty Buckner of Woodfin, Shirley Bohanon of SC and Linda Mack of Arden; grandchildren, April, James, Alicia, Krista, Kayla, Olivia, Elizabeth, Autumn and Hayden Solesby, Chelsea, Sammy and Courtney Gowan; step grandchildren, Tyler, Bradley and Zac ; great grandson, Brison Craig and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Hagan officiating. Burial will be in New Morgan Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
