Edwin “Eddie” Frisbee, of Leicester, went home to be with The Lord on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the Valor Hospice Unit of the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville. He was born on November 8, 1947, in Mars Hill.
Eddie graduated from Erwin High School with the Class of 1966. He went on to build a life defined by steady work, service, and devotion to the things he held most dear. He worked as a farmer and electrician throughout his life, and during the last 25 years of his work as an electrician, he served as an Electrical Inspector for Buncombe County. He was known as a hard worker all his life, continuing in that spirit until he was no longer able to work.
He also served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. In Vietnam, he served as a rigger, helping deliver much-needed supplies to the troops, and he was also a paratrooper. He was proud of his service to his country and often expressed that the guiding order of his life was first God, then family, and finally country. That faith remained an important part of his life, and he was a member of Little Sandy Church.
On December 16, 1967, he married the love of his life, Maleada Farmer Frisbee, and together they shared many years of marriage and family. In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his sons: Jeff Frisbee and his wife Dianne, and Mark Frisbee and his wife Christy; his brother, Jerry M. Frisbee; his sister, Linda K. Weber; his grandsons, Benjamin Frisbee and William Frisbee; his grandchildren-in-law, Evan Deyo and Claire Deyo; and by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. His family was a central part of his life, and he took special joy in those he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reeves S. Frisbee and Maggie Buckner Frisbee; and brother, William Craig Frisbee and his wife Pauline.
