Ethel Edwards

Asheville - Ethel Strong Edwards, 86, of 410 Silo Drive died Wednesday January 12, 2005 at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. A native of Breathitt County, Ky. she had lived in Candler for more than 50 years. She had attended Berea College and was an L.P.N. for many years. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. She was a daughter of the late David Pryse Strong and Ellen Campbell Strong. Surviving are her husband, Joseph Baird Edwards, Jr. of the home; sons, Lewis Edwards and wife Margaret Z. Edwards of Valdese and Joe Edwards and wife Marilyn Edwards of Candler ; sisters, Gladys Strong of Jackson, KY. and Clara Phillips of Kerrville, TX.; 3 granddaughters and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillip Hurst officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park.
