Faye Magdalene Johnson

Arden - Faye Magdalene Johnson, 75, of 103 Appalachian Blvd., passed away Thursday, June 2, 2005 at St. Josephs Hospital following a period of declining health. A native of Saluda, NC, she had resided in Buncombe County for the past 50 years. Miss Johnson was a member of Merrimon Avenue Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Joseph I. and Elzie Gosnell Johnson. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Willie B. Johnson. Surviving are her sisters: Wilma Johnson and Lois Ross, both of Saluda, Thelma (Flaxie) Spencer of Asheville, and Brenda Whitman of California; her brother, Robert E. Lee (Bob) Johnson of Saluda; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ronnie Owen officiating. Burial will be in the Saluda City Cemetery in Saluda. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
