Florence Brown Merrill Pilcher

Fairview - Florence Brown Merrill Pilcher, 70, of 841-B Charlotte Hwy, died Monday June 2, 2003 at Mountain Area Hospice Solace Center following a period of declining health. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she attended Fairview Calvary Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late George Homer and Annie Mae Brown. Surviving are her husband, Willie Lee Pilcher of the home; sons, Tommy Merrill and wife Cathy of Arden, Jeffrey Merrill and wife Sharon of Asheville, Lawrence Merrill of Asheville and Danny Merrill and wife Rose of Marion; stepdaughters, Julia Ann Linville of Yadkinville and Loretta Boger of Advance; sister, Ruby Denny of Carrollton, Ga.; 7 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Bobby Gibson and Bobby Earwood officiating. Burial will be in Cane Creek Cemetery.
