Frances Buckner

Leicester - Alice Frances Lance Buckner, 79, of 25 Solomon Road died Tuesday October 16, 2007 at her home after a period of declining health. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of Asheville Freewill Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late G.O. and Orpha Lance and the wife of the late Eldridge Buckner. Surviving are her sons, Frank Buckner of Mills River, Stanley Buckner of Oteen and Emory Buckner of Leicester; daughter, Rebecca Hess of Leicester; sister Lucille Deaver of Weaverville and 9 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Asheville Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs. David C. Gentry, Sr., T.A. Holder and Roy Gillis officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
