Frank A. Briggs

Asheville - Frank Allen Briggs, 74, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was the former owner of the Filter Queen Air Cleaners and a member of Happy Valley Missionary Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Sam Rufus and Fannie Belle Rhodes Briggs and was also preceded in death by his son, Alan Briggs; 2 brothers and a sister. Surviving are his wife, Ruby Lee Gillespie Briggs of the home; daughters, Stephanie Briggs McKenzie (Donnie) and Robin Briggs Burke (Perry) all of Asheville; daughter-in-law, Debbie Briggs of Candler; sisters, Susie Runion of Asheville and Ila Mae Stephens of Ninety-Six, SC; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr., Rev. Allen Rash and Rev. Perry Burke officiating. Burial will be in South Turkey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to ones favorite charity.
