Frank Merrill

ASHEVILLE Robert Franklin Frank Merrill, 75, of Rash Road, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 5, 2012. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mr. Merrill retired from ABF Freight Systems as a truck driver, and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mr. Merrill was the son of the late Robert Rankin and Lucy Craig Merrill, and was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty McGee. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen Brownlee Merrill, of the home; children: Pamela Merrill Winfree (Jim), Jeff Merrill (Beth), and Greg Merrill (Lisa), all of Asheville, and Doug Merrill (Laura) of Fletcher; sister, Norma Pearce of Front Royal, VA; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday at Victory Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mark Chase and Rev. Rodney Hagans officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
