Fredrice Ballard Manning

Black Mountain - Fredrice Ballard Manning, 70, of 353 Cragmont Road, died Sunday December 15, 2002 at St. Josephs Hospital after a period of declining health. A native of Brevard, she had lived most of her life in Buncombe County. She had retired form Biltmore Manor Nursing Home and was a member of Wilkie Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Fred Daniel and Parthena Brown Ballard. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Ballard. Surviving are her husband, Edward Harry Manning; daughter, Waylean Eplee of Black Mountain; granddaughters, Patricia Merideth and Joyce Haun; great grandchildren, Mikky, Brittiney, Deanna, Kristin and Brandon; sisters, Leota Burnette of Black Mountain, Betty Blankenship of Asheville, Juanita Moeller of Candler and Martha Warren of Asheville; brothers, Joseph and Fred Ballard both of Asheville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Enoch Ball, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
