Gail Elaine Parker, born on May 13, 1950, in Asheville, passed away peacefully in her hometown on June 20, 2026. Gail’s life was marked by warmth, kindness, and an unwavering spirit that touched all who had the privilege to know her.
A proud graduate of Erwin High School, Gail’s journey began in banking, where she developed a reputation for diligence and care. However, her professional path soon led her to Ballard's Appliance and Cabinet Company. There, Gail found both a lasting career and a cherished community of coworkers. She excelled in many different roles within the company, always bringing dedication, creativity, and joy to her work. Her colleagues remember her not only for her professional excellence but for the warmth and camaraderie she brought into the workplace.
Gail was much more than her career or accomplishments. She was the radiant center of every gathering—a lover of laughter, whose vibrant spirit uplifted those around her. Known to bring the life and light to every get-together, she leaves behind memories full of joy and the kind of laughter that brightens even the ordinary moments. An avid reader, Gail found delight and solace in the worlds within books, a passion she often shared with those she loved.
Family was at the heart of Gail’s life. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Angela Leatherwood and her husband Scott; sister, Kathy Charlene Parker; granddaughter, Leah Treadway; and great-grandchildren: Gauge Webb, Kyeler Johnson, and Kaizlee Johnson. Each held a special place in her heart, and she treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, forming bonds that will endure through cherished memories and abiding love.
Gail is now reunited with her parents, Mack Parker and Betty Louise Carter Parker, as well as her siblings: William “Steve” Parker, James “Ronnie” Parker, and Gloria Jean Parker, who preceded her in passing. Their spirits, along with hers, will live on in the hearts of those who remain.
A private graveside service will be held at Green Hills Cemetery, 25 New Leicester Highway in Asheville, NC.
Gail Elaine Parker’s legacy is one of kindness, laughter, and devotion to family and friends. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who had the honor of sharing in her remarkable life.
