Gerald Walter Jones
January 13, 1948 — April 7, 2024
Asheville – Gerald Walter Jones, 76, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at the Memorial Mission Hospital.
A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe he was a son of the late James Wesley Jones and willie Kate Rice Jones. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ranita Jones.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Gerald Walter Jones, II and wife Elizabeth, and Cindy Winneberger and husband Roger; twin-sister, Geraldine Austin; brothers: Ronnie Jones and Larry Jones; and five grandchildren and many extended family members.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, April 11, 2024, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff McCurry officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1 till 2 PM at the funeral home.
Anders-Rice Funeral Home and Cremation Center is honored to serve the Jones family.
