Grace Helen Brown

Asheville - Grace Helen Brown, 80, of 224 Westwood Place, died Wednesday May 15, 2002 at Blue Ridge Rehab and Health Care. A life long resident of Buncombe County. She had worked at different nursing homes as a nurse and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Isaac William and Mandy Clark McGhee. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Brown; grandson, Terry Penland; 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Surviving are her daughter, Hazel Penland and husband, Lawrence of Asheville; sons, Vestal Ward and wife, Ruby of Leicester, Mike Brown and wife , Karen and Edwin Brown all of Asheville; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Tad Marshall officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery.
